I was pregnant and travelling and can only sing the praises of the airport staff at Stansted for their help. I knew it was not a good idea to travel, despite my doctor giving me a clean bill of health. It was an emergency though and I had to do it so I prepared myself well, making sure that I looked after myself before I was due to go. I was careful on the flight, walking about regularly, eating and drinking sensibly and keeping my legs and arms moving as much as I could.

It was all going really well, I had not felt at all unwell which was a bit of a miracle really! We had to descend slowly because there were a few planes queued up and that really helped things. The slowness of the pressure reducing, meant that I didn’t even have trouble with my ears, which I normally get. As everyone got up to pack their things, I remained seated, deciding that I didn’t want to be bashed about in the rush but wait. I did get up eventually and went really dizzy. It is common in pregnancy for this to happen but this was really bad, I could not see and had to sit back down. This is where the staff were fantastic, getting me off the plane, with support, sorting out my luggage and even cancelling my hire car and ordering me a taxi instead so I go safely to my destination.

The small family run Linton Zoo is a great place to see the animals you really came to the Zoo for. They have big cats, wallabies, tapirs, zebras and so much more. Since this Zoo is not so insanely large, you know that the animals are getting treated well and will have the focused attention they need to enjoy themselves. The big thing that you have to watch out for is the gardens. They are so beautiful during the blooming parts of the year that it may be difficult to spot the animals because of the beautiful plants stealing the focus. It is also a wildlife breeding and preservation centre so you may see some animals that will only be there for a short period of time while they mate. Make sure to look for some of your favorites and like the sign that you see once you enter, enjoy your day!

The best way to get to the lovely Linton Zoo is to take advantage of a car rental when in the area. The best vehicles are almost always available when you book online and in advance. The big advantage of booking in advance is that you can really get the best deals before the last minute. Of course you can always get a great vehicle at a moderate to high price, you really want the same vehicle for less right? The advantage of getting a cheaper car is that you will have more money for the gift shop at the Linton Zoo!
